Thai director Anocha Suwichakornpong's ethereal first film has been widely praised as one of the most startling and original feature debuts of recent years. This seemingly ordinary, astutely structured family drama is a film with cosmic aspirations.

The story of a paralyzed son, his elusive father, and the male nurse hired to take care of the wheelchair-bound patient parallels the emotional dynamic of a single home with the tumult of an entire country. Like its dichotomic title, the film gradually expands outwards to morph into a philosophical and hallucinogenic meditation about our place in the universe. A film as beautiful, strange and as mysterious as life itself.

The DVD features the film presented from a new HD transfer, approved by the director; Anocha Suwichakornpong's award-winning 2006 short film Graceland; a newly filmed, exclusive interview with director Anocha Suwichakornpong and a booklet featuring a new essay by arts journalist and film critic Carmen Gray.
